Woman Sues Google for Bad Directions

Lauren Rosenberg is suing Google for directions that she claims resulted in her injuries when she ended up walking down the middle of a state highway.

Rosenberg, a native of Los Angeles, CA used Google Maps on her Blackberry to get directions from 96 Daly Street, Park City, Utah, to 1710 Prospector Avenue, Park City, Utah. The directions included a half mile walk down “Deer Valley Drive” which is also knows as “Utah State Route 224″

if only there were a technology that allowed people to figure that walking down the middle of a state highway could be hazardous to their health. I guess we’ll have to rely on common sense and hope that folks lacking in that area don’t become too much of a hazard to the rest of us.
Rosenberg’s filing Indicates that Google Maps failed to warn her of the dangers of walking down  a state highway

“Plaintiff Lauren Rosenberg was thereby stricken by a motor vehicle, causing her to suffer severe physical, emotional and mental injuries, including pan and suffering and causing her to incur medical expenses in amounts in excess of $ 100,000.”

Maybe she’ll also sue Blackberry for providing her with a phone that cuased her to get hit.
